Frequently Asked Questions

Everything You Need to Know

Answers to the most common questions about earning carbon credit revenue, equipment requirements, timelines and how TrustVal works with your operations.

For landfill gas projects with existing methane destruction, you can expect first carbon credits within 12–18 months. TrustVal handles the entire process — baseline studies, methodology application, monitoring setup and registry submission — so your team stays focused on operations. Projects that already have monitoring infrastructure in place can move even faster.
There is no strict minimum. TrustVal's Programme of Activities (PoA) structure lets us bundle smaller facilities together, so even sites with 500+ tonnes of annual methane destruction can participate and earn revenue. The bundling approach means your project shares certification costs across the programme, making smaller assets economically viable.
No. TrustVal's dMRV platform connects to your existing sensors, PLCs and SCADA systems. If additional monitoring hardware is needed, TrustVal provides and installs it at no cost to you as part of the project development. Your operations continue uninterrupted.
You pay nothing upfront. TrustVal finances the entire project development, monitoring infrastructure and certification process. Revenue is shared from carbon credit sales — you receive a transparent percentage of every credit issued. The exact share depends on project specifics and is agreed before work begins.
TrustVal supports issuance under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement (bilateral carbon markets / ITMOs), Verra's Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), and Gold Standard. The best registry for your project depends on your location, buyer requirements and the type of emission reductions involved — TrustVal advises on the optimal route.
